FAQ

Where are you located?

Right now, I’m offering online therapy to clients anywhere in California – so you can attend from the comfort of your home (or wherever feels safe and private).

Exciting news: In-person sessions will be available soon in Walnut Creek! Want to be one of the first to know when doors open? Join my interest list by emailing me at hello@awakenedhealingtherapy.com.

What are your hours?

I see clients Monday through Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

What’s your rate? How long is a session?

My standard session is 50 minutes, and the rate is $200. If you ever need a more extended session, we can discuss that.

How do I pay?

Payments are easy and secure. I accept credit cards, debit cards, and HSA/FSA cards – all set up through your client portal.

Do you take insurance?

I don’t bill insurance directly, but many clients use their out-of-network benefits to get partial reimbursement. If you would like to do that, I’ll provide you with a monthly superbill (a detailed receipt) to submit to your insurance.

Here’s the code your insurance might ask about: 90837 – 50-minute individual therapy session.

I choose not to work directly with insurance because it requires me to diagnose you and add it to your permanent medical record. It also limits flexibility in your care. Staying out-of-network allows us to create a treatment plan that’s private, personal, and fully customized to you.

How do I set up my first appointment?

You can email me at hello@awakenedhealingtherapy.com or call me at (209) 650-1246.

I’d love to hear from you and answer any questions you may have.

What kind of therapy do you offer?

I offer Individual therapy, EMDR, Somatic therapy, and Walk-and-Talk therapy.

We’ll work together to find the best approach for your needs and goals.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes! I offer online sessions through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.

You’ll need a stable Internet connection, a private space, and maybe a headset, which many clients find helpful.

What’s your cancellation policy?

I ask for 36 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. If you fail to provide cancellation with more than 36 hours’ notice, you will receive a charge for the whole session.

A credit card must be on file in the portal to book your first session.

Who do you work with?

I work with adults (18+) of all genders in individual therapy.

My clients come from all walks of life and share a desire to heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves.

What does a typical session look like?

You will establish the shape of each session, as we focus on your needs and energy that day and what’s going on in your world.

We might explore your past and how it’s showing up today, or practice breathing and grounding tools to help you regulate and feel calm. Sometimes, we reflect on progress or dig into questions that came up since our last session. Other times, we go outside for a walk-and-talk session to get our bodies moving while we process.

Clients are different, so we tailor your therapy to fit what feels safe and effective for you.

What is EMDR therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) helps you process and heal from trauma and other distressing life experiences.

With guided eye movements or tapping, EMDR helps your brain reprocess stuck memories, so they lose their emotional charge. You can finally move forward without feeling triggered or weighed down.

If you’re curious, I’d happily explain how it works in a free consultation.

What is somatic therapy?

Somatic therapy helps you reconnect with your body, learning to listen to what it needs and how it communicates through physical sensations.

Together, we’ll build your awareness of your body’s cues so that you can feel more grounded, safe, and calm. I’ll guide you through tools like breathwork, mindfulness, and gentle movements to help your nervous system regulate.

This kind of therapy is beneficial if you’ve ever felt disconnected from your body, or if anxiety or trauma shows up physically for you.

What should I know to get the most out of therapy?

Bring your willingness to grow. You don’t need to have it all figured out. All you need is an openness to change and a commitment to yourself.

If self-compassion feels hard right now, that’s okay. We can build that together.

Is therapy worth it?

If you’re reading this, something inside you is already whispering, “It’s time.”

You don’t have to carry it all on your own anymore.

Therapy can help you feel lighter, more transparent, and more connected to yourself. You might look back and be so glad you took this step, for being brave enough to ask for support.

Investing in yourself is one of the most powerful investments you can make. When your mental and emotional health are thriving, everything else tends to follow, including your relationships, peace of mind, and the ability to create and enjoy success.

Health is the new wealth. When you feel like your best self, you can live with more purpose, joy, and freedom.
